Disgraced NBA Referee Tim Donaghy

Basketball referee Tim Donaghy ruined his life by betting on his profession (when we say ruined we mean: wife divorced him and took the kids; lost his job;spent time in jail; the mob does not like him)! Even if you are not a sports fan, listen to what can happen to you if you take advantage of your job….. in a bad way (you should listen as well because Mr. Donaghy gets testy with our questions)!

Irrational behavior is a part of human nature. MIT professor Dan Ariely has discovered people tend to behave irrationally in a predictable fashion. In a very “Freakonomics” type fashion, Ariely says behavioral economics can show us why cautious people make poor decisions about sex when aroused, why patients get greater relief from a more expensive drug over its cheaper counterpart and why honest people may steal office supplies or communal food, but not money…. Despite his work, we’ll take Ariely to our gutter and ask him if he could beat up the Freakonomics authors in a cage fight!
