Drink The JOB Radio Show Cool Aid…

Because if you do and apply just one thing, from one of our guests this week - you will change the way you work.

For instance - Be positive! Author of the book The No Complaining Rule Jon Gordon tells us about a company that actually instituted a no complaining rule. Being positive saved the company millions of dollars (and who couldn’t use an extra couple of million dollars).

Be Creative - The Coaches Training Institute brings us career coach Michele Mchall who says that part of the reason we never achieve our goals is due to the fact we don’t unlock our inner creativity (P.S. Michele is super groovy).

Be Green - Elizabeth Eastman from the San Francisco Department of Environment gives us a few tips on how to make our workplace a little more Eco Friendly.

Be Adaptable - Resident employment lawyer Dennis Strazulo points out that your hours at work can change at any time - its your employers legal right.

All that…. plus I give away a 1973 Dodge Dart.

If you had the power to hypnotize people and change their behavior - would you use that power for good or eeeeeevil? We give an unannounced call to DR. Vera, a licensed Hypnotherapist and get her opinion (p.s. she is a grandmother of 6, she can’t be evil).

From actor to author to job coach… CTI’s Henry Kimsey-House has done it all. We’ll ask him the secret to stellar communication at the workplace.

You’d think there are clear cut rules as to what defines sexual harassment. Graze someones boob at work while calling them “honey” - could that get you fired? Employment Lawyer Dennis Strazulo gives us the answer

Personality tests…can’t live with them - can’t live without them. Myers-Briggs Personality type expert Karen Erickson stops by to administer justice!

All that, plus tips on how to help out a “fried out” co-worker  and an examination of the Munchausen Syndrome (it is not a German appetizer, but in fact a hero complex that is ruining production at the workplace).

Marketing guru and author Jay Heyman says he’s lazy (aren’t we all). Never-the-less he says all you need is ONE good idea to turn your business into a jugggernaut.

Part II with our business coach de jure Hope Langer. This week: coaching bosses. I know it’s hard to believe they all aren’t perfect to begin with.

Put on your thinking caps - Art Kleiner joins the fun to talk about his book The Age of Heretics: A History of Radical Thinkers Who Reinvented Cooprtate Management….THIS BOOK IS AWESOME. Just think about how the business community has changed since WW II. Art tells us who it was who did the changing.

Our resident employment lawyer Dennis Strazulo talks Non-Compete contracts (very sexy topic - more sexy than you really think).

YOU deserve a raise! We all deserve a raise. We all probably won’t get a raise. I guarantee it will shock you why you won’t be getting a raise…mostly because you are not left handed or put rum in your coke.

What is the old saying… something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. That’s exactly what we are aiming for this week on The JOB Radio Show.

Something old: How about a replay of an interview with world famous cartoonist Stephan Pastis - Creator of the Pearls Before Swine cartoon.

Something new: Employment lawyer Dennis Strazulo with a new topic - dinner breaks. A new law is on the books, what does that mean to you?

Something borrowed:  How about borrowing The Coaches Training Institute’s Career Coach - Jennifer Lee. J Lee will break down the differences between men and women in the job search.

Something blue: How about an interview with Author Samuel A Culbert about his book Beyond Bull Sh*t - Straight Talk at Work.

See how that all came together!

After months of hype and hysteria it is finally Shark Week on The JOB Radio show.

Did you know something like 24.7 million people watch Shark Week on the Discovery Channel - if just .00008 perecnt of those people tune into The JOB, we’ll have 17 more listeners than normal!

If you think that this whole shark theme is just a silly radio stunt….. you are flat wrong. How could loan sharks, people who swim with sharks and authors who write about sharks at work - be just stunts.

All that plus our regulars, Jennifer Lee of CTI, Dennis Strazula and Andrew Gardiner mix in their shark stories…

Don’t be scared - “the Landshark is considered the cleverest of all sharks. Unlike the great white shark, which tends to inhabit the waters and harbors and recreational beach areas, the Land Shark may strike at any place, anytime. It is capable of disguising its voice, and generally preys on young, single women.”
